Several Iranian state media reported this Monday that President Ebrahim Raissi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian were killed in a helicopter crash in northwestern Iran.
The information was provided by the Mehr news agency and the government newspaper Iran Daily, but there is still no official confirmation from the Tehran authorities.
The helicopter carrying Raisi was on a mountain in northwestern Iran today, emergency services said, admitting they had little hope of finding survivors.
