CPWC notes that 14,284 children and young people are at risk

According to the Protection Commissions Assessment Report, in 2023, more than 14,200 children and young people were at risk and in need of promotion and protection measures, more than 5,500 from situations of neglect, and a further 4,300 from situations of neglect. – for domestic violence. Last year, CPWC monitored 79,511 children and young people, which is 6.7% more than in 2022. A total of 54,746 near misses were reported, of which 17,632 were due to negligence and 17,001 were due to domestic violence situations. The PCWC proposed to apply preventive and protective measures to 14,284 children and young people, the majority of whom are boys (7,676), with a predominance of the 11-14 age group. There were also 471 cases of physical violence, 343 cases of psychological violence, 136 cases of abandonment, 180 cases of sexual violence and eight cases of child exploitation.

Regarding accompanied children, the report showed that 2,665 were of foreign nationality, especially from Brazil, and that 947 had some type of handicap or handicap, mostly mental.
