The end of the Czech Cup was marked by clashes between fans of Sparta Prague and Victoria Prague, reports Daily mail. Sparta won the title 2:1 thanks to a goal from Veljko Birmancevic. The team did a double, as it had already become the Primeira Liga champion.
Although security and policing were particularly tight, nothing stopped fans, some wearing masks and hoods, from invading the Doosan Arena pitch. Images circulating on social media show aggression between the two.
Due to clashes between fans, the match was interrupted several times, and plastic cups were thrown onto the field.
Czech TV presenters were even attacked while broadcasting the game using a lawn chair used by photographers.
The Football Association of the Czech Republic, which organizes the tournament, said it made “every effort” to ensure the match went off without a hitch.
