The Japanese government has issued an emergency warning to residents in the south of the country to protect themselves from the possible threat of a North Korean missile. The warning was later lifted because the object was not expected to fly over the country.

The missile launch came hours after Pyongyang said it would launch the satellite before June 4.
This will be the North’s attempt to launch a second spy satellite into orbit. After several failed attempts that resulted in rocket crashes, North Korea successfully launched its first satellite into orbit in November last year.
