A EuroAtlantic Airways plane carrying the Cadiz football team took off from Jerez in Spain on Monday, bound for El Salvador. emergency landing at Seville airport due to a technical problem with one of the engines. There were moments of panic on board.
“We thought we were going to die, everything was going through our heads. We felt a small explosion and the flight crew was a little nervous. There was an engine problem and we were told we needed to land quickly. Fortunately, we are doing great,” said Cadiz midfielder Alex Fernandez.
However, in view of what happened, Cadiz announced that he would no longer travel to El Salvador.
“Now I’m smiling, I’m grateful to be on the ground. The situation was terrible. We noticed that the crew was nervous, but they were very professional. We felt very bad,” he added in a conversation with the Spanish football program Chiringuito.
