A Lusitania de Luros fan has been banned from sporting venues for 12 months after racially abusing an Alverca player, the Authority for the Prevention and Combating of Violence in Sports (APCVD) said on Wednesday.
“The incident amounting to an administrative offense occurred on May 19 in the match between Lusitania de Lurosa and Alverca at the Lusitania de Lurosa stadium, referring to the 14th round of the 2nd qualifying stage of the champions (League). 3)”, can be read in the statement published by APCVD.
A 52-year-old man from Lurosa was punished by the APCVD and ordered to pay a fine of 1,000 euros for insulting Sao Tome player Harramis Soares.
“In case of non-compliance with the established preventive measure, the fan is subject to a crime of disobedience and may be detained by the police,” the organization said.
The APCVD also announced that it had concluded its case on May 23 against a fan who was punished in the same way, including for racially abusing a young player.
The incident occurred in a match between Sport Clube Tarouca and Grupo Desportivo de Oliveira de Frades in the 11th round of the U14 Gold Cup, a competition organized by the Viseu Football Association.
