Luka Doncic leads the Mavericks to the NBA Finals, where they face Nehemias Kveta’s Celtics

The Dallas Mavericks secured their spot in the North American Basketball League (NBA) Finals for the third time on Thursday by defeating the Minnesota Timberwolves 124-103 in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals.

Led by Slovenian first baseman Luka Doncic, the Mavs repeated their 2006 and 2011 performances, losing the first 4–2 and winning the second to capture their only title, also 4–2, both against Miami. Hit.

Doncic ended up scoring 36 points on 14-of-22 shooting from the field, including six-of-10 on threes, 10 rebounds, five assists and two steals, while Irving added the same 36 points, plus five assists and four steals.

Also noteworthy were P.J. Washington’s 12 points, Daniel Gafford’s 11 points and nine rebounds, and Derek Lively II’s nine points and eight rebounds, who didn’t miss a field goal the entire series.

The hosts were led by Anthony Edwards with 28 points, nine rebounds and six assists and Karl-Anthony Towns with 28 points and 12 rebounds.

The NBA Finals, played like all playoff qualifying games on a best-of-seven basis, kicks off June 6 in Boston, home of the Celtics, owned by Portugal’s Nehemias Queta.
