Pedro Nuno asks on Sunday to say no to the “arrogance of the AD government”

The Socialist General Secretary believed this Friday that Sunday is an important date also because we will “say no to the arrogance of the right and the AD government,” calling for voting because “the people govern,” not the politicians.

To conclude the campaign for the European Championship on Sunday, the PS organized a festival in Chelas, Lisbon, where Pedro Nuno Santos made a final call to vote so that “no one misses out on one of the most important rights.”

“June 9th is an important date, it is the day when we also say no to the arrogance of the right, no to the arrogance of the AD government, no to those who forget about women’s rights, to those who work and to those who have worked all life,” he asked.

AD, who “thinks he can do everything,” the PS leader left the confidence that “the socialists will always be dedicated to their cause, active, fighting, with great dynamics, with great energy, in defense of the Portuguese people.”

“Let’s vote on the 9th. Let no one stay home, let no one lose one of the most important rights we have won: the right to vote. People are responsible for this, not politicians,” he said.

Pedro Nuno Santos warned that the PS will continue to do its job in the opposition.

“They are very upset that we are presenting proposals and that they are approved,” he said wryly, returning to a line from yesterday’s speech that the AD believes he “can do anything.”

“They don’t need to talk to the opposition, they rule as if they have an absolute majority. This is the high road. They are already behaving as they have ruled for 10 years,” he criticized.

According to Pedro Nuno, “the government does not solve problems” and its only goal is to ensure that “the problems are not in the news.”

“They think they can do anything, but they can’t because we exist and are here to judge them and fight them,” he stressed.

Two days before the election, Pedro Nuno Santos called for mobilization because the whole campaign “will be worth it” if there is no failure on Sunday.

Pedro Nuno Santos began his speech by praising the head of the PS list, Marta Temido, given that throughout the campaign it could be seen that “the Portuguese have not forgotten” what he said he was sure of: “that the Portuguese we had relationships of affection and gratitude. We had the best candidate.”

The PS leader once again threw a barb at the head of the AD list, who was “fiddling with some questions” about women’s rights.

“Everyone on the right looks at Portugal as if it’s every man for himself,” he accused, outlining this difference in relation to the socialists.
