The Public Security Police (PSP) recorded more than 24,000 home thefts between 2020 and 2023, security forces said this Sunday, and also noted 51,361 thefts from car interiors.
In a statement sent to the editor this Sunday, the PSP indicated that in the last four years there have been 7,614 crimes involving residential burglary (without breaking, climbing or false keys) and 16,714 crimes involving residential burglary. lasagne or fake keys, resulting in a total of 24,328 burglaries.
During those four years, 447 people were arrested for home theft and 952 people were arrested for car theft, for a total of 1,399 arrests. Statistics indicate a decline in property crime in 2023, with the PSP highlighting that “the downward trend continues this year.”
