“We should all be congratulated because the Portuguese believed in the European project that we defend, and tonight the Portuguese showed once again that they trust the PS,” said Marta Temido.
“The PS received more votes than in the last European elections. Thank you for giving strength to the Europe of solidarity that we want and defend,” she says.
He also left congratulatory words about how voting took place in the new mobile voting model, as well as about the voting numbers. The Portuguese, he said, “came out of their homes to vote, once again proving the vitality of our democracy in the year in which we celebrate the 50th anniversary on April 25.”

And he added: “We, the Portuguese and the Europeans, have said it again.”
The socialist guaranteed that her party would not shy away from “any effort to build a better Europe, not only in the next five years, but also in the next 50 years.”
“The result we got today is very important, because the Portuguese, who have always shown great confidence in the European project, today voted massively for European political projects and parties,” he emphasized.
He devoted part of his speech to gratitude to the entire structure that collaborated with the election campaign, and emphasized that this result of the PS was a “victory for women.”
According to Temido, “this victory clearly demonstrates the role of the CoP in the fight to protect equality, in the fight to protect all equalities, among and among all.”
The PS was the party with the most votes (32.1% and eight MEPs) in today’s European elections, ahead of the Democratic Alliance, which had 31.1% and seven seats, according to preliminary results.
According to the General Secretariat of the Ministry of the Interior (GSAI), Chega, which elected two members of the European Parliament, became the third political force with 9.79%.
