Portugal Day celebrations continue from Tuesday in Switzerland, with the President and Prime Minister celebrating June 10 along with the world’s second largest community of Portuguese expats.
Following the Portugal Day celebrations, Camões and the Portuguese communities in the three municipalities of Leiria district affected by the 2017 fires – Pedrogão Grande, Figueiro dos Vinhos and Castanheira de Pera – and Coimbra, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa and Luis Montenegro were among them. In Zurich, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa and Luis Montenegro have planned meetings with representatives of the Portuguese community and with the community itself, the latter also ending with a musical moment – a classical music concert by young Portuguese musicians, which will complete the double program of the celebration. in Switzerland.

The President of the Republic, who already made an official visit to Switzerland in 2016, has new commitments in the Swiss country at the end of the week, as he will lead the Portuguese delegation to the Peace Summit for Ukraine, which will take place near Lucerne. on the 15th and 16th, and at which he will be accompanied by the Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Paulo Rangel.
