KP workers go on strike at the end of June

CP – Comboios de Portugal workers will go on strike on June 28 to demand better careers, according to a document signed by more than 10 trade union organizations.

“A group of trade union organizations came together to analyze the negotiation processes in the Communist Party and the Individual Entrepreneur. [Infraestruturas de Portugal]has now decided to issue a strike notice to the CP on June 28,” the joint statement said.

The strike covers all workers and will last throughout the day, ensuring “a situation of entry before 00:00 and exit after 24:00 on that day.”

The corresponding document was signed by the Union of Associations of Railway Middle Managers (ASCEF), the Independent Trade Union of Commercial Railway Workers (ASSIFECO), the National Union of Transport, Communications and Public Works (FENTCOP), the National Union of Railway and Allied Workers (SINAFE), the National Democratic Union of Railway Workers ( Sindefer) and the Independent Union of Railway, Infrastructure and Allied Workers (SINFA).

The National Independent Union of Railway Workers (SINFB), the Independent Union of Railway Operators and Allied Trades (SIOFA), the National Union of Technical Personnel (SNAQ), the Federation of Transport and Communications Trade Unions (Fectrans) and the Union of Railway Transport (STF). ) also sign the decision.

These trade union structures understand that the proposals of the KP administration do not meet the need to increase the career growth of all company employees.

“It is time to move from workplace dissatisfaction to action and fight. All together, in unity, we will prove to the leadership of the Communist Party and industry supervision that workers want to improve their working conditions,” they noted. .

The unions stressed that they did not go on strike at IP as meetings were still being held.

The unions will subsequently assess whether changes have taken place to meet their demands.
