This afternoon João Almeida won the sixth stage of the Tour of Switzerland, which was reduced to just over 40 kilometers due to snow.
The Portuguese crossed the line four seconds ahead of Emirates teammate Adam Yates, who had won stage five the previous day thanks to the work of Joao Almeida.
In the general classification, Adam Yates retains the lead, and Joao Almeida also secures second place, but managed to reduce the difference that now separates him from his teammate to 19 seconds (from 35).
With two stages remaining in the Tour of Switzerland, the race is completely wide open, especially between the first two as Egan Bernal (Ineos) comes in third at 1.28 minutes.
The mountain will continue this Saturday, and on Sunday, the final day, there will be a time trial that could prove decisive, and then João Almeida will always have a say.
