Seven people were killed and 11 seriously injured in road accidents on Saturday and Sunday, according to preliminary incident data published on the website of the Republican National Guard (NGR).
From 00:00 Saturday to midnight Sunday, GNR recorded 338 accidents in its area of operation, resulting in seven deaths, 11 serious injuries and 121 minor injuries.
On Saturday, 175 accidents were recorded, with two deaths (in the districts of Aveiro and Braganca), eight serious injuries and 70 minor injuries.
According to the GNR, 163 accidents were recorded on Sunday, in which five people were killed (in the districts of Faro, Portalegre, Porto, Santarem and Viseu), three were seriously injured and 51 were slightly injured.
According to the GNR, from Monday to Friday, 968 accidents were reported, resulting in five deaths: two on Tuesday in the districts of Braga and Lisbon, one on Thursday in Castelo Branco and two on Friday in Lisbon and Setúbal.
