Portuguese MotoGP World Championship rider Miguel Oliveira returns to racing this weekend in the Brazilian Porsche Cup endurance race, the first round of which takes place at the Estoril Circuit.
Miguel Oliveira will drive the Porsche 992 GT3 Cup alongside José María Marreiros, who usually competes in the Spanish GT Championship.
“The invitation to take part in the Porsche Cup C6 Bank was unexpected, but obviously it’s a great honor for me to be on the track among so many champions. I’m heading out for the weekend with the intention of having fun and putting on a show. to the public I do what I like best, that is, I compete in a sport that is unknown to me, but not mine. I’m very happy, I hope everything goes well and it will be a great event,” he said. Miguel Oliveira.
Trackhouse’s Portuguese drivers will include names such as António Felix da Costa, Rubens Barrichello, Tony Kanaan or Nelsinho Pique.
José María Marreiros emphasizes that participating in the Porsche Cup with Miguel Oliveira is a dream come true.
“Ever since I saw my father compete in these competitions here in Portugal and Brazil, it has been my goal to compete in them. This is a very professional and competitive championship and hence it will be an important milestone in my growth as a racer. Making his debut in Miguel’s team is a dream, given that he is both an idol and a friend,” emphasized the 22-year-old driver.
The race will last 300 kilometers (just over 2:30 hours) and will take place on June 21 and 22.
