Two people were killed in an accident involving three cars on additional route (IC) 13, near the entrance to Pisan, between Portalegre and Crato, a source in the Republican National Guard (GNR) told Lusa.
“The accident damaged three cars, resulting in two deaths, two men aged 34 and 72, and two seriously injured who were taken to hospital,” a source in the Portalegre territorial command told Lusa.
A source from the Alto Alentejo subregional command previously told Lusa that there had been a collision between two cars, leaving two seriously injured.
According to the GNR, the accident occurred around 7:40 am at kilometer 142.150 near the entrance to Pisan, between Portalegre and Crato.
“Vehicle IC-13 was disabled to evacuate the victims and is currently in roadside condition,” he said.
At 9:00 a.m., 26 first responders were on the scene, as well as members of the Crato and Portalegre fire departments, the Portalegre Ambulance and Medical Resuscitation (VMER) and the Republican National Guard (GNR), supported by 10 vehicles.
