ANEPC team arrived in Turkey on a humanitarian mission

Units of the National Emergency and Civil Protection Administration (ANEPC) have already arrived in the country, sent on a humanitarian mission to Turkey after the earthquakes. They are in Antakya in the Hatay region and will carry out search, rescue and support work for the affected population.

In a post posted on Facebook, you can read that: “The operatives of the Portuguese group are already in the theater of operations, performing search, rescue and support work for the affected population.”

The Portuguese team was sent after the earthquakes that hit southern Turkey and northern Syria this Monday. In total, the last balance in the countries already indicates more than 20 thousand dead and tens of thousands affected by earthquakes.

Along with the ANEPC, Portugal also committed to send operational personnel from the GNR Emergency Protection and Assistance Unit and emergency medical service personnel, including humanitarian aid from the European Union.
