Chega’s request to hear former Prime Minister António Costa and former minister João Galamba in parliament regarding the dismissal of the former TAP executive president was “rejected” with votes against the PS and PSD.
The request was voted on by deputies of the Committee on Economics, Public Works and Housing and included votes in favor of Chega and the Liberal Initiative and the abstention of PAN.
Following the end of the vote, Chegi MP Filipe Melo announced that the party would put forward a potential request for a compulsory hearing of the two former governors, which would be sent to the commission this afternoon.
Last week, Chega announced that he would propose holding a hearing in the Assembly of the Republic on the case of former Prime Minister António Costa after CNN Portugal published the wiretap of Operation Influential Man on March 5 last year, in which António Costa will tell the former Infrastructure Minister João Galamba said , that Christine Ourmier-Widener will have to leave the leadership of TAP for political reasons in order to contain possible damage to the government.
