The fifth and final stage of the Austrian Cycling Tour will be cancelled instead of being held in honour of Norwegian cyclist Andre Drege (Coop-Repsol), who died in a crash during the race on Saturday.

Drege, 25, died in a violent fall on the descent of the Grossglockner mountain during the fourth stage of the Tour of Austria.
“The memorial ride was the clear wish of Andre’s father, his teammates and his entire team, giving the entire cycling family the opportunity to come to terms with what happened and pay tribute to Andre Dröge,” said Austrian race director Thomas Pupp.
Drege, 25, made his professional debut in 2021, has always been with one professional continental team and, according to some specialist media, could join a WorldTour team in 2025.
Italy’s Diego Ulissi (INEOS) led the Tour of Austria, the final stage of which was to take the peloton from Kufstein to Kühtai, covering 143.8 kilometres.
