The PNP arrested two men, aged 32 and 40, on suspicion of stealing, receiving and dismantling vehicles in the Braga area and confiscated nine light commercial vehicles, security forces said on Tuesday.
“As part of the investigation into the theft, acquisition and dismantling of vehicles, which lasted about nine months, the military guards carried out 10 search warrants: seven in homes and three in warehouses in the municipality of Amares. During the operation, NTC soldiers seized nine light vehicles containing goods, parts, accessories and other components belonging to vehicles.
Also found were two rifles, a revolver, 20 rounds of ammunition, documents, mobile phones, two thousand euros in cash and other tools used to dismantle cars.
During the action, four men aged between 30 and 45 were also identified and charged with the same crimes, the Braga Territorial Command of the NTC added.
On Wednesday, the detainees will appear before the Amares court for enforcement action.
The operation was supported by the territorial command of the port of the GNR.
