On Tuesday, the government reached an agreement with three PSP unions and two GNR associations on the allocation of a risk supplement, which would see the amount increase in stages by 300 euros until 2026.
In addition to the 300 euro increase, an increase in the fixed option of the fixed bonus from the current 100 to 400 euros, the agreement also provides, according to trade union structures, for a review of the professional status, changes to the remuneration table in 2025 and an assessment regulation, a review of the salary tables and a green path in health care.
This €300 bonus will be paid in three installments: €200 this year and the remainder at the beginning of 2025 and 2026, increasing by €50 each year, in addition to maintaining a variable component of 20% of the base salary.
Bruno Pereira of the National Police Union believes it was not “an ideal agreement, but a semi-agreement.”
He also says that this is “the agreement that binds this government and everything that comes next,” stressing that it is an agreement they accepted “because it was reasonable.”
“If it had been a little further, it could have been a historic agreement, so it’s just a reasonable half-agreement,” he says.
