This Sunday, Brazil’s Raissa Leal won the bronze medal in the street skateboarding competition at Paris 2024, becoming, at 16, the youngest woman ever to stand on the podium at two Olympic Games.
After winning the silver medal at Tokyo 2020, in her Olympic debut at the age of 13, Raissa Leal took bronze today in La Concorde, in the French capital, behind Japan’s Koko Yoshizawa, who leads the rankings and confirmed this status by winning the competition, and Akama Liz, who finished third.
Yoshizawa, 14, scored 272.75 points to beat 15-year-old Akama, who scored 266.95 points, and Raissa Leal scored 253.37 points in the final, in which all competitors were underage.
In 2021, skateboarding’s Olympic debut, Raissa Leal shared the podium with two Japanese women who were then competing “at home”, with Momiji Nishiya, then 13, winning the competition and Funa Nakayama taking the bronze medal.
