This Tuesday, the Portuguese team completed its participation in the first day of qualification in equestrian dressage for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, taking a preliminary sixth place.
In the qualifying round, in which the top two riders from each of the six groups qualify, to which the six best results are added, António do Vale, riding Fine Fellow – H, won by João Moreira due to health problems with his horse, was the first to enter the competition, finishing eighth in Group B with 66,910 points.
Hit Plus’ Maria Caetano, the only rider with Olympic experience, competed in Group C, also finishing eighth with 66,630, leaving Portugal provisionally sixth in teams with 133,540, last among the teams having already competed with two horses out of three, in a total of 14 forms.
