A fire of unknown origin has partially destroyed a two-storey house in Estribeiro, in the parish of Abrigada, Alenquer, leaving a couple and a small child temporarily homeless.
“The fire broke out at 15:44 on the top floor of the building, at a time when no one was there,” he explained to reporters. CMDaniel Ribeiro, Chief of the Alenquer Fire Department.
23 units and 9 vehicles from the fire brigade and the Alenquera Fire Service were mobilized to the scene.
“The damage was done to the top floor of the house. There are no conditions for the couple and their minor child to continue living there. No casualties were recorded,” the source concluded.
Alenquer’s Civil Protection will now have to inspect the house to assess its security conditions.
