A fire that broke out on Monday in a nine-story building in Laranjeiro, Almada, left three people injured, two of whom were in serious condition due to smoke inhalation.

The two seriously injured, aged 71 and 81, were taken to the Garcia de Orta hospital in Almada. The slightly injured man was treated at the scene but did not require hospitalisation.
There were 17 emergency personnel and eight fire engines from Casillas, VMER and the Municipal Civil Protection Service at the scene.
The alarm was raised at 12:50 and extinguished at 15:02.
