12 emergency departments are closed or have limited access today.

Five emergency departments are closed on Tuesday and seven are under certain conditions. According to the SNS emergency scale, from 00:00 to 24:00 on Tuesday, there will be no emergency care in the field of gynecology and obstetrics (UGO) in Santarém, Abrantes and Barreiro.

There is no obstetric emergency department in Portimão, and the pediatric emergency department in Barreiro is also closed.

There are also several services that operate by direction (they accept users recommended by CODU/INEM and/or SNS24). In this situation are UGO Braga (from 8:00 to midnight), Amadora-Sintra, São Francisco Xavier, Lisbon (from 21:00 to midnight), Santa Maria, Lisbon (only obstetrics) and Almada.

The Amadora Children’s Emergency Department is open until 8:00 a.m. and from 8:00 p.m. until midnight. The Viseu Pediatric Center is available from 8:15 p.m.

On Sunday evening, the Hospital das Caldas da Rainha temporarily barred access to the pediatric emergency department, which was closed until 8 a.m., for an 11-year-old boy vomiting and in pain due to the virus.

The father called 112 near the hospital and went to the Caldas fire station. Only after persistent actions by the firefighters was the child given help.

Line SNS24

For non-urgent cases, you should call SNS24 (808 24 24 24) who will assess you and refer you to the most appropriate department.
