Five men were arrested in Porto on Wednesday on suspicion of drug trafficking, and nearly 2,500 doses of heroin, cocaine and hashish were seized, as well as more than 18,000 euros in cash, the PSP said on Thursday.
A statement from the PSP capital command in Porto said the detainees were between 25 and 47 years old, with four of them detained in the Pastelheira neighbourhoods and one in Cerco.
In total, the text says, 1,863 doses of cocaine, 101 doses of heroin and 461 doses of hashish were seized, as well as 18,226 euros in cash.
In addition to the drugs seized from the detainees, the PSP, “during another operation to detect and prevent crime carried out in the context of the fight against the direct sale of drugs,” confiscated on public roads in the San Francisco neighborhood of Tomé, 32 doses of hashish and 35 euros of liamba, as well as 530 euros in cash.
The detainees will appear before the courts this Thursday to receive appropriate coercive measures.
