Medina will “determine what is imposed to fully guarantee legality” after reviewing compensation for Alexandra Reis.

This Sunday, the Treasury Department clarified that the General Inspectorate of Finance (IGF) review of the compensation paid to former TAP administrator Alexandra Reis is still “in the competitive phase” and only after that will a final report be prepared.

“IGF inspection activities are still ongoing and are at a controversial stage. Only after this phase will a final report be prepared and sent to the government,” Fernando Medina’s ministry explained in a statement.

According to the guardianship, “once the inspection is completed and a report is prepared, the finance minister will promptly make the findings public and determine what should be imposed to fully guarantee legality.”

The IGF review of the legitimacy of the compensation paid to Alexandra Reis was determined on December 27 last year by Finance Minister Fernando Medina and then Infrastructure and Housing Minister Pedro Nuno Santos.

The communiqué released this Sunday by the Ministry of Finance follows news released Friday night by SIC Notícias that the IGF draft opinion “indicates serious irregularities in the process” by Alexandra Reis.

According to SIC, both the TAP management, led by Christine Urmier Widener, and the former company administrator have already been notified by the IGF “of the conflict with the draft opinion” and have already issued their opinion, so “IGF’s opinion should be known.” soon”.

A TAP official contacted by Lusa on Saturday said only that “it’s an ongoing process” and that the airline “will respect all of its findings.”
