From 00:00 to 14:00 this Thursday, according to data sent to Lusa, CP suppressed 514 trains out of 692 planned on the last day of several strikes that affected the work of the carrier.
During this period, the KP carried out 178 trains, performing minimal services, which corresponds to a suppression rate of 74.3%.
In long-distance traffic, out of 39 scheduled trains, 29 were canceled, and in regional traffic, out of about 186 trains, 138 did not take place.
In the city of Lisbon, out of 328 evaluation trains, 244 did not take place, and in Porto, out of 139 evaluation trains, 103 were suppressed.
CP workers started new strikes on Monday, with the carrier warning of “serious unrest” until Thursday to protest the stalemate in wage negotiations, which also involves Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP).
CP had already warned on Friday of “serious disruptions” to train traffic from Monday 00:00 to Thursday 23:59 due to the strike, with a four-day minimum service set at 25%.
The strike was called by SINFA, the Allied Association of Intermediate Directors of Railway Operations (ASCEF), the National Independent Union of Railway Workers (SINFB), the Independent Union of Railway and Associated Workers (SIOFA), the Independent Trade Union Association of Commercial Quarry Railway Workers (ASSIFECO), the National Federation of Transport, Communications and Public Works (FENTCOP), Railway Technical Services (STF), STMEFE – Trade Union of Underground and Railway Workers (STMEFE), Sinafe – National Union of Transport and Related Railway Workers, National Union of Railway Workers of the Railway Sector (SNTF) and Union of Public Administration Workers (Sintap).
