Arrested for selling counterfeit goods on social media kept Mustang at home

In Gondomar and Sintra, two women and a man were accused of selling counterfeit goods through social media and tax fraud, with alleged sales profits in excess of €500,000, allowing the suspects to purchase a Ford Mustang.

The arrest of the suspects, aged 29 to 52, ended on Thursday as part of Operation Golden Bags, a nearly year-long investigation “in the context of the crime of selling or concealing counterfeit products, tax fraud and money laundering,” the report said. GNR statement.

“The suspects used the social network to introduce and market counterfeit products of well-known brands through live sessions, and the illegal activity of selling counterfeit goods leads to the calculation of illegal benefits of more than 500,000 euros,” the description reads. GNR.

Investigators conducted eight searches of homes, vehicles, and outbuildings, culminating in the shutdown of activities.

As part of Operation Golden Bags, 631 counterfeit items, 30 postal parcels, presumably counterfeit, ready to be sent, three cars, a laptop, three mobile phones and 21,020 euros in cash were seized.

The operation was carried out by the Fiscal Action Unit (UAF) through the Porto Fiscal Action Squad and the investigation data was referred to the Judicial Court of Gondomar.
