The duo of Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert (Daniels) won the Oscar for Best Director this evening at the 95th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Awards for Everything and Everywhere at Once.
The other nominees were Martin McDonagh for The Spirits of Inisherin, Steven Spielberg for Fabelmans, Todd Field for Tar, and Reuben Ostlund for Triangle of Sorrow.
Tonight’s Academy Awards are taking place at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, where Joao González’s short film “The Ice Traders” was screened and nominated for Best Animated Short Film.
All at Once from Every Side, an independent production by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, received the most nominations with 11, including Best Film and Direction, and Acting.
Other nominees for the Best Picture Oscar, the last of which will be announced tonight, are The Spirits of Inisherin (Martin McDonagh), The Storytellers (Steven Spielberg), Tar (Todd Field), No West Again. (Edward Berger), Top Gun: Maverick (Joseph Kosinski), Elvis (Baz Luhrmann), Avatar: Way to Water (James Cameron), The Voice of Women (Sarah Polley), and Triangle. Sorrows ”(Ruben Ostlund).
