The Ministry of Education said this Thursday that it has the right to demand the establishment of minimum services for strikes in schools, including for the work of non-teaching staff, whose services are distributed by school principals.
The clarification of guardianship comes after the Setúbal City Council defended that the minimum services accepted for the strike called by the Union of All Educational Workers (Stop) do not apply to operational assistants, employees of the municipality since April.
“Our understanding is that when there is room for minimum service provision, employers need to be encouraged to negotiate. Camara de Setúbal is currently the employer of 536 workers who came from schools but were not heard. arbitral tribunal,” said Carla Guerreiro (CDU), Housing Adviser of the Chamber of Setúbal.
