The Prime Minister of Slovakia said that the government of the country approved the shipment of 13 MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine. In response to this decision, the Kremlin stated that it would “destroy” these planes and that they would not change the outcome of the conflict.
According to Reuters, the Slovaks became the second country to send military aircraft to help Ukrainians defend themselves against the Russians. Poland already announced this support on Thursday.
Poland and Slovakia have actively supported Kyiv since the outbreak of the war in February 2022.
The Kremlin’s response that it would “destroy” the planes sent to Ukraine came after two Russian fighter jets shot down a U.S. drone in the Black Sea.
