A company in the municipality of Palmela that was illegally dismantling end-of-life vehicles was suspended by the Food and Economic Security Authority (ASAE) on Monday.
After an audit related to the “online” sale of used car parts, ASAE found that the company, in addition to its “legitimate retail business of used parts”, carried out activities based on the dismantling and illegal sale of high-end cars. .
The ASAE said in a statement that the cars came from England and did not have the proper licenses, so taking them apart is seen as an environmental risk.
As a result of the investigation, the ASAE inspected Palmela’s warehouse, confiscated four end-of-life vehicles and their parts, and immediately suspended illegal activities.
According to ASAE, the total cost of expensive cars and their parts amounted to five thousand euros.
