Rio Ave beat Boavista by one goal

This Sunday, Rio Ave hosted Boavista and won thanks to a single goal from Boateng. Luis Freire’s team is back in triumph, and Petit’s men haven’t won since September 17, when they beat Sporting CP 2-1.

Checkers went sharper. Yusuf, very active, led the first offensives against the last stronghold of Vilacondense. Rio Ave reacted and, through Paulo Vitor, reported some inconsistency. The match struck a balance that was almost broken towards the break due to a treacherous centre. The ball touched Igor Gomez and Jonathan had to make an effort to avoid an own goal.

In the second half, Boavista turned out to be stronger, but it was Boateng who missed one of the best opportunities of the game. In the corner, the striker from Ghana climbed the highest and shot the crossbar into the goal of Brakali. This move motivated the team of Luis Freire and Boateng, shortly after he found himself isolated to ask Bracali which way he wanted to get the ball and open the scoring.

Boavista reacted, Petit bet all his chips, but Yusupha was a (dramatically) spender. The injured (and just) triumph of Rio Ave against Boavista, who did everything not to lose in Vila do Conde.
