The arrests took place this week as part of a traffic police action against “drivers of vehicles intended to service electronic platforms operating in the Porto city area.”
The PSP said in a statement that the Highway Patrol’s actions, specifically targeting powered two-wheelers, were aimed at “combining the aspect of prevention as well as the deterrence of risky behaviour, serious violation practices, dangerous maneuvers and/or disregard for traffic rules and signs to promote a sense of security among citizens.”
94 violations of the Rules of the road and other traffic legislation were recorded.
Of these 94 violations, PSP highlights lack of compulsory liability insurance, illegally modified vehicles, failure to pass a pedestrian crossing, disobedience to red traffic lights, disobedience to mandatory traffic signals, use of mobile phones while driving, lack of screening and missing persons. documentation.
The detainees were notified that they would appear before the courts.
