Study shows children inherit intelligence from their mothers, not their fathers

There is now a scientific explanation that shows that intelligence is inherited by children through their mothers’ genes. According to the newspaper Mirror, several studies show that the X chromosome is responsible for the intelligence gene.

Women contain two of these chromosomes (XX), and men only one (XY), i.e. Women are twice as likely to pass on IQ to their children than men.

A study by the Social Sciences and Public Health Division of the Medical Research Council in Glasgow, Scotland shows that “IQs tend to be similar to those of mothers.”

For this study, children aged 14 to 22 were surveyed every year, taking into account several factors such as education and socioeconomic status, and concluded that mothers are the best indicator of intelligence.

However, not all scientists agree with this principle, since genetics is not the only factor influencing intelligence. According to the blog Psychologyit is estimated that 40-60 percent of intelligence is hereditary, with the rest dependent on the environment.
