Pope Francis was released from the hospital this Saturday. The leader of the Catholic Church was in the Gemelli hospital in Rome, recovering from bronchitis. On Wednesday, he was admitted to the hospital complaining of breathing problems.
“The medical team confirmed for tomorrow [sábado] Holy Father’s discharge from the Gemelli Hospital,” the Vatican said on Friday, Reuters reported.
“I’m not scared, I’m still alive,” the Pope told reporters outside the hospital.
Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni confirmed on Friday that Pope Francis will attend this weekend’s Palm Sunday service, an important event in the church calendar that kicks off Easter week celebrations.
