A 24-year-old man suspected of stealing a gold thread from a young man in Aveiro has been placed on provisional arrest after being presented to a criminal judge at the Aveiro court.
The robbery took place on Avenida Doutor Lourenço Peixinho in Aveiro. A group of five people stole a golden thread by stringing it from a 17-year-old boy. The crime took place in front of the victim’s parents and two younger brothers.
The PSP in Aveiro was on the alert and arrested two men of African descent, aged 29 and 24, in Esgueira, one of whom had a stolen gold thread.
The two detainees were brought before a criminal judge at the Court of Aveiro. At the end of the first judicial interrogation, the senior suspect was given a measure of restraint in the form of detention. The youngest heard a measure of coercion to performances at a commanding post.
The warning was given to the authorities around 3:30 p.m. The pair were intercepted by PSP in Esgueira, about two kilometers from the crime scene.
The suspects resisted arrest and had to call for police reinforcements. Authorities also seized three doses of hashish.
