On Tuesday, April 18, the International Day of Monuments and Historic Sites, admission to 25 museums, monuments and palaces under the auspices of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage will be free. The information was confirmed by the organization itself, which explains that “only the National Museum of Archeology will be closed because it is still under construction as part of the Recovery and Sustainability Plan.” Everything else will be open not only for free visits, but also for guided tours, guided tours and thematic visits. Until Sunday, about three hundred proposals are already planned.
International Monuments and Sites Day is an initiative of the International Council on Monuments and Landmarks with the theme “Heritage in Change” in the context of the climate emergency. Under this motto, it aims to “raise public awareness of the sustainability of cultural heritage and at the same time call for its protection and dissemination”.
