On Monday, the Pentagon announced it would conduct an “exhaustive” investigation into its security systems within 45 days of one of the largest leaks of confidential documents in the Jack Teixeira case.
US Department of Defense Deputy Spokesperson Sabrina Singh said at a press conference that Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has instructed Deputy Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security Ronald Moultrie, along with other officials, to carry out the task.
At the end of the 45-day period, investigators will be required to communicate their initial findings and recommendations to Austin in order to “improve” Pentagon policies and procedures regarding the protection of classified information.
