A 37-year-old worker died this morning in Albergaria a Velha after being knocked down by a tree he was chopping. The lumberjack was part of the lumberjack brigade.
The warning was issued around 10:00 am by the firefighters of Albergaria a Velha due to an accident at work in the Fradelos area. The ambulance and resuscitation medical vehicle (VMER) brigade from Aveiro was also mobilized.
At the time of the arrival of the operatives, the victim was in cardiac arrest. Resuscitation nevertheless began, but the worker could not stand the severity of the injuries. The death was confirmed by the VMER team in Aveiro.
The body was taken to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Aveiro. The GNR was called to the scene.
