The Centro Hospitalar do Baixo Vouga (CHBV) will begin performing catheterization at the Hospital de Aveiro following the opening of the Cardiology Department for Cardiovascular Diagnostics and Intervention on Tuesday.
According to information released this Monday by CHBV, the new CV Intervention Unit “expands and differentiates CHBV response capabilities, allowing, in addition to others, programmed catheterizations” that have so far required patient relocation. in Coimbra or in Porto.
“These are the results of the in-depth work that the SNS executive management has done in the country to increase accessibility for patients with serious cardiac pathologies, culminating in the recent opening of the Hemodynamics Department at the Hospital de Guimarães, and now at the CHBV, with a cardiology department for diagnosis and cardiovascular interventions,” reads the invitation sent this Monday.
The Centro Hospitalar do Baixo Vouga will launch this new facility on Tuesday with a catheterization appointment for three patients, with a site visit scheduled for the NHS Executive Director Fernando Araujo on the same day. .
About a year ago, the council of the inter-municipal community of the region of Aveiro complained to the government about the “activation of hospital facilities to care for users suffering from heart attacks”, including the possibility of emergency catheterization in Aveiro, as they could be decisive.
