The destruction of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station will not prevent the military from protecting the left bank of the Dnieper, Acting Governor of the Kherson Region Vladimir Saldo said on his Telegram channel on June 6.

“Tonight, the kyiv regime committed another crime: it launched a missile attack on the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station. The destruction resulted in a large, but not critical, amount of water flowing down the Dnieper. It will not stop our military from defending the left bank.”he wrote.

The balance reported that the peaceful infrastructure was violated, the fields were razed.

The acting head of the region noted that this would not greatly affect the situation in the region.

“It won’t even require a large evacuation of people. Most of the residents remain in their places, although transportation has been sent for them.”he said.

Saldo stressed that with this coup, the kyiv regime is trying to divert attention from the failures in the so-called “counteroffensive.”

Recall that on the night of June 6, as a result of the shelling of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station by Kiev regime militants, the shut-off valves were partially damaged. Then, under the pressure of the water, several sections of the station were destroyed. Later, the emergency services reported that 14 of the 28 spans of the station had already been destroyed.

Nova Kakhovka Mayor Vladimir Leontiev stressed that the most negative scenario has been avoided so far: a 12.5-meter rise in water.
