More than eight million people evacuated in Japan due to the arrival of an “unprecedented” typhoon

At least eight million people from 3.7 million households have been ordered to evacuate in southern and western Japan due to the arrival of the Typhoon ‘Nanmadol’an “unprecedented” storm, according to Japanese authorities.

The Japan Meteorological Agency issued a special warning on Sunday for an “unprecedented” typhoon due to the imminent danger of floods, rising rivers and landslides.

The storm made landfall near the city of Kagoshima, on the island of Kiushu, around 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. After will continue its route to Chugokuin western Japan, at a speed of about 20 kilometers per hour.
