President Chegi formalized a vote of no confidence in the government this Friday and accused the PSD of being “titable, weak and dissolute” for announcing that it would abstain from voting.
Andre Ventura spoke to reporters at the Assembly of the Republic, where he announced that on the first day of the second legislative session, the party passed a long-declared vote of no confidence in the government.
“We do this with the awareness that the beginning of a new legislative session is always an anxious moment in the life of parliaments, but we also understand that there is an accumulation of situations that continue from the end of the legislative session and which cannot allow the political year to begin without a strong , firm and inevitable censorship by the government of António Costa,” he said.
The Chegi leader also reacted to the abstention announced on Thursday by PSD President Luis Montenegro, who described the text presented today as “childish and childish.”
In his response, Ventura complained about the “understatement, weakness and laxity of the PSD.”
