Valais and Azevedo were defeated again in Lisbon relations

The decision of the Lisbon Court of Appeal (TRL) has dealt a new defeat to former Benfica president João Vale e Azevedo. This time, the judges found it necessary to preserve the disobedience (a legal figure that prevents an accused who evades trial from obtaining documents or doing business in the country) of a lawyer who escaped prosecution for two frauds.

The resolution to which CM had access, appears in response to another appeal from Vale and Azevedo. The former Red leader is accused of providing false guarantees worth €3 million in three other trials, as well as attempting to defraud BCP Bank with false guarantees to obtain a €25 million loan.

TRL quashed Vale and Azevedo’s claim for a writ of process, which relates to facts that occurred between November 2006 and July 2007, determining that it is valid until 2034.
