A three-vehicle accident killed two on the IC13 near the entrance to Pisan, near Crato. One of the victims is Fernando Moreira, 34, a security guard by profession and member of the Grupo de Forcados Amadores de Portalegre, who was driving alone towards Portalegre. Manuel Viegas, a 72-year-old artist born in Portalegre but living in Fortios, was the second fatal victim. He was traveling in the opposite direction in a van with two other men who were seriously injured. The circumstances of the accident are yet to be determined, but indications are that it was a poorly timed overtake. The vehicles were confiscated by the GNR, which is carrying out inspections. The victims were taken to Portalegre Hospital. One of them has already undergone surgery in the abdominal area. The driver of the third car was not injured. Firefighters from Portalegre, Crato, VMER INEM and GNR were on the scene with 26 first responders.
