A motion of censure presented against the French Government by the left has been rejected this Monday by failing to collect the necessary votesdespite the announcement by the far-right Marine Le Pen that her parliamentary group supported her.

Neither motion had the support of other groups, leaving them very far from those 289 imperative votes. The left totals 151 seats and the extreme right another 89 out of a total of 577 in the National Assembly, so they needed the support of the moderate conservatives to carry them forward.
