A 50-year-old businessman disappeared on the Zezere River in the Abrantes region. The girl was seen climbing out of the river and asking for help after the two of them took a boat ride.
The motor boat in which the couple sailed through the Castelo de Bode reservoir was discovered by firefighters from Abrantes. The ship stood without people on the banks of the Zezere River with the engine running and the lights on.
According to the 27-year-old woman, they rented a boat on the banks of the Trizio River and stopped in the Abrantes area to swim in the Zezere River. At some point, the woman stopped seeing her partner and swam to the shore, as she was at some distance from the boat. Reaching the shore, wet and in a bathing suit, she called for help, being heard by a fisherman who was on the opposite bank.
GNR and firefighters were called to the scene, and searches began on land and on the Zezer River, which will resume this Monday and will continue until the businessman is found.
